Hello there,

I hope you are well and are ready for your Christmas celebrations.

Anyway, we have entered our little afternoon tea blog in the UK Blog Awards 2014, which we are a tad bit excited about! I'd really appreciate your support....if you are able to vote for us you just need to click on the link below and leave your name and email address.

Every vote counts at this stage and we'd be so grateful for your vote!

All White Festive Greetings!

Hello there - its me again, I am back with my second DT card today!

This time I have my card for our fab festive challenge over at My Time to Craft and this week we'd like to see your white on white Christmas cards. Now I know how much I struggle with WoW cards and so I was pleased to see that we're allowed coloured images on our cards....making it a bit easier!

I've used one of my favourite new digi stamps sending people warm winter wishes....

I have used a white card blank, which has been topped with some pretty embossed white card. Finally I printed my image and added a little colour with my Promarkers and a little sparkle with my Stickles. My sentiment has been produced on my laptop.

I'm pleased with how this WoW card turned out - simple but festive! For more inspiration pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog and see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created. We've got a short break ahead of us now.....our next challenge will go live in January.

Colour Challenge

Hello there! Happy Saturday....I hope you've had a fab week. Christmas is just around the corner now....are you ready for your festive celebrations?

I've broken up from work until the New Year now....as many of you know its been a really busy year for me so I am pleased to have a little break. As you're ready this I am probably curled up on the sofa watching Christmas movies!

Anyway, this week we have a lovely colour challenge for you over at Sweet Stampin - we'd like to see white cards featuring just one other colour. This week we are joined by Stamp Fairy as one of our sponsors and Team Abi were lucky enough to be given a digi image to play with!

Isn't that image a cutie? I really enjoyed using this one! As you can see I opted for blue as my other colour....not sure why, but it seemed to fit the image well.

I've used white and patterned blue papers for this card, and I have used blue Promarkers to colour my image. Finally I added some faux stitching to the card. I am very pleased with how this card turned out.

Let it Snow!

Hello there!

Well, I am here with the last challenge of 2013 for Christmas at Sweet Stampin....I can't believe that this year has already flown by....at least I have a fab stash of Christmas cards to send to friends and family!

Our challenge this month is "Let it Snow"....we want to see your frosty inspired cards! I decided I had to feature a cute snowman on my card.....

He looks like he's enjoying his winter wonderland in the snow! I have printed my digi image and coloured it with my Promarkers. I have then added a little sparkle with my Stickles. I've gone with a blue colour scheme for this card, including some fab snowflake backing paper.

Cute and Cuddly Christmas Animals

Hello there!

Me again! This time I am back with a new challenge for you from My Time to Craft and this week we have a fab Christmas challenge for you....we'd like to see your creations featuring cute and cuddly Christmas animals.

Now I thought long and hard about this theme...did I want to use a cute bear all wrapped up...or maybe some rabbits playing in the snow? Then it struck me...what's cute and cuddly and features Christmas animals....most of my Christmas jumpers! Now I'm a sucker for a good Christmas jumper, I have a nice collection of woolly ones....this year however I also have two cute stamp Christmas jumpers!

Hee, hee! Now isn't that a cute and cuddly Christmas animal?? I love this stamp so much, it just makes me smile! This card is a custom order for someone I work with, hence the name on the front.

I've stamped my image and added the colour with my Promarkers....plus of course Rudolph needed a sparkly nose! The background is made up of plain red and green paper and a little homemade holly - simple, but very festive!

Ribbons

Hello there,

Happy Saturday! I hope you are keeping well and had a fab week.

So, are you ready for Christmas yet? I'm not! Looking at my diary I'm not too sure when I'm going to get ready either...oh dear! Still, as you all know I love this time of year...all the music and Christmas coffee and mince pies...I'm just going to go with the flow and enjoy the season!

This week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin is a fab one...we'd like to see ribbons featuring on your cards...along with a stamped image of course!

Here is my card....

Now I love this fab digi image that I've found...it's right up my street and I think it looks fab with the mince pie and Christmas pudding backing paper! I've teamed it all with some festive plain red and gingham ribbons. The image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little extra sparkle with my Stickles. I made the holly from scrap paper in my stash.

Its Sketch Time!

Hello there!

I hope you are well and have had a fab week.....can you believe that tomorrow is December?? Where has this year gone?

I'm back today with a fab sketch challenge from My Time to Craft....here is the sketch we'd like to see in your projects....

Now you can add bits to this sketch if you like....maybe a flower here or there or a bit or ribbon....we don't mind as long as we can still see the original sketch.

I decided to get a bit creative with my patterned papers for this challenge....I'm not entirely sure why....and I'm not entirely sure its worked out well for me!!

I think possibly the teapot paper should have been a different paper...what do you think?? The cute little image is actually two separate images that I have placed together to create my tea time scene. My image has been coloured with my Promarkers. I have added some Stickles to the top left hand corner of the card in a very light pink colour.

I'm not 100% happy with this card....its that teapot paper that is not working for me!

To see how my fellow DT members used the sketch pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog - there are loads of fab cards there!

Special Christmas

Hello there,

Hope you are well today....I'm back with my second post today - this time with a challenge from My Time to Craft. We're celebrating special Christmases this week...whether that be baby's first Christmas, Christmas in a new home or a first Christmas for a married couple....anything as long as its special (and you let us know what the occasion is with the sentiment)!

Joe's sister is due to have her first baby this Christmas, and Joe is excited about becoming an uncle. I've discovered this wonderful image that I will be using when the baby has joined us....and it is perfect for this challenge too....

Isn't it a cutie?

My image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little bit of sparkle with my Stickles. I then went with a background of blues and baby soft colours. Finally I finished off my card with some holly that I've cut from red and green papers.

For more inspiration pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog and see the fab DT cards that have been created this week.

If you popped by my Sweet Stampin post earlier you will have seen a couple of photos from my Rhythm Riot weekend last weekend.....but I couldn't resist sharing just one more! We had a fabulous time at Pontins in Camber Sands - full of 1950s clothes, cars, music and dancing.

Here's me and my new car (I wish!!)....

Thanks for popping by today,
its lovely to see you!

Cause for Celebration!

Helloeee! Happy Saturday!

Well I'm back from the 1950s....and what a fab weekend we had! Rhythm Riot was brilliant this year...I shopped, danced, listened to lots of live music and watched a brilliant car rally...we even had harmonica lessons! In fact we had so much fun we're already planning next year! As you will see from these photos...Lorna and I really got into the swing of things this year.....

1950s day wear...

And 1950s evening wear.....

Anyway, this week at Sweet Stampin we are all a bit excited as its Sweet Stampin's 4th Birthday....a real cause to celebrate! I really love working with the Sweet Stampin DT - everyone is so friendly and supportive.....and very talented! So its great to be able to celebrate another Birthday with the ladies!

So, lets see your celebration cards....

A celebration really needs a cake I think, so that's what I decided to feature on my card! My huge Birthday cake has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added some sparkle with my Stickles.

Pop over to the Sweet Stampin challenge blog to see all the gorgeous DT cards that have been created this week. While you're there you can also see all the prizes that we have on offer for you this week from our fab sponsors....

Hanging around at Christmas....

Hello there!

This is a scheduled post from me today....as this goes live I will be visiting the 1950s in Pontins Camber Sands! Anyone who visited my blog this time last year will know that Lorna and I went to Rhythm Riot for the first time last year, and we loved it so much that we are heading back! We've in for a weekend of live music, dancing, 1950s dresses and fab cars - we can't wait!

Enough from me though....this week we have a fab new challenge for you over at My Time to Craft...this week we'd like to see your cards feature the humble Christmas decoration....the bauble! Dressing our Christmas trees each year baubles are so varied and so pretty - so lets celebrate them with a card!

I've revisited a design that I first came up with last Christmas...

I have cut my baubles out of red and green papers, and then I decorated them with white, silver and gold pens and a little sparkle! I've kept my background simple, but just using a kraft card background with a little faux stitching. Simple, yet very Christmassy I think!

A very white Christmas....

Hello there!

Happy Hump day - we're half way through the week and also nearly half way through the month! Where does the time go?

This month we have a new challenge for you over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin.....I know I already have lots of my Christmas cards made, but hopefully this challenge will help add to your stash! Our theme this week is one that I struggle with quite a bit....we have a white on white challenge for you. You can either create a completely white Christmas card....or you can create a card with a white background and coloured image. If you go for the latter option, the only thing that can be coloured is your image.

I decided to go with this option.....

I have stamped my Christmas image and sentiment onto plain white card and coloured it with my Promarkers. I also added a little bit of sparkle with my Stickles. I then mounted this on some embossed white card, which was attached to my white card blank.

The reason I struggle with WoW challenges is because I really do love a splash of colour....in fact I love a bit more than just a splash! I find it quite difficult working with white papers....and I find it quite difficult to photograph the cards when they are finished too!

Keeping it simple!

Good Morning Peeps!

I'm back again with my second DT post of the day! This time with a new challenge from My Time to Craft....by the way have you seen that we currently have a DT call on the blog? If you'd like to join a fun loving bunch of crafters pop by the blog to find out more!

On with the challenge....this week we'd like you to keep it simple. In fact we'd like to see your Clean and Simple (CAS) cards which feature only one layer or less!

It was Joe's Dad's Birthday last week, he is a complete car nut and so I decided to get crafting with one of my car stamps....

I have stamped that fab image straight onto my card blank. I opted for Kraft Card as I felt that went well with my vintage mini. I love this stamp, the detail is just brilliant. I decided to keep it simple, adding only my stamped sentiment and a little faux stitching just to frame the card.

I'm pleased to report that Joe's Dad was very pleased with the card!

Can you hear it? Christmas is coming!

Hello there!

Eekk! Guess what...Christmas is just around the corner! I love this time of year....and I don't mind that it seems to appear a little earlier each year! I know I drive Joe and my friends mad, but I can't help it! I'm just like a big kid!

I love everything about Christmas....the movies, the TV ads, the Christmas coffee at my favourite coffee shop, the endless opportunities to bake, spending time with my friends and family. It just gives me a lovely warm glow! I have already had my first Christmas coffee of the year and I have entered rather a lot of competitions to win Christmas hampers etc!

Therefore I was very pleased when I saw this week's challenge over at Sweet Stampin...you've guessed it...our theme is "Christmas is Coming!". So what are you waiting for...get your Christmas stamps and papers out and get crafting...if you need any inspiration I'd recommend putting the odd Christmas song on in the background!

I've opted for something not particularly traditional for this card....

It might not be that red or green...but its definielt me!

I've coloured my image with my Promarkers and then used a selection of freebie papers that I received with a magazine this week. The sentiment was created on my laptop and the little button stickers came from the magazine too.

Brrr...its a bit chilly....time for a quilt!

Hello there,

Well, if you are in the UK I hope you survived the storm on Sunday night! It was really windy here in Farnham and we lost two of our fence panels....apart from that everything else survived ok.

It's also been Halloween this week, so I hope you all had a spooky time! Last weekend I hosted a Halloween themed afternoon tea for my friends.....

I really love Halloween afternoon teas, you get to be so creative! For this tea we had snail wraps and skull cheese biscuits. We indulged in eyeball cake bites, ghost biscuits and cobweb millionaire shortbreads to name a few of the sweet treats!

To find out more and to see more scrummy photos pop by the Tea with Me and Friends afternoon tea blog!

So, on with this week's challenge from My Time to Craft...this week the weather seems to have got a bit colder and so you might have got your winter quilt out. To mirror the colder weather we'd like to see some quilting on your cards this week....all you need to do is make your background look like a quilt!

I've gone with a pink and brown colour combo that I love - I think it looks so sweet, especially when topped with a cake or two! My image is from Digi Stamp Boutique and I have coloured it with my Promarkers - adding a little sparkle with my Stickles. I've also added some faux stitching to the card and a printed sentiment.

Butterflies!

Hello there,

Me again! This time I am back with my second DT post for today, this time for My Time to Craft where we have a lovely theme for you. This week we'd like to see your projects featuring butterflies! Your project must have a butterfly as the main image rather than just an embellishment added to a card.

I opted to create a pretty get well card for this challenge.....

I've used some little digi image butterflies which have been coloured with my Promarkers. I have added a little sparkle to their wings using my Stickles. I have used a Kraft card as the base, topped with a little polka dot backing paper and some faux stitching - simple but pretty I think!

Hello there - I hope you are keeping well!

Today is the weekend before Halloween and today I am hosting a Halloween crafternoon tea at my house for my friends. I love creating Halloween themed afternoon teas, I think they are great fun and you can get very creative with your sweet treats! There will be lots of photos on my afternoon tea blog very soon!

Today we have a lovely challenge for you over at Sweet Stampin...this week we would like to see your projects featuring wood, trees or leaves.

I saw this as the perfect opportunity to use one of my favourite tree stamps that I haven't used in a while....

The image has been stamped in black ink and I have added a bit of sparkle to the leaves with my Stickles. I've gone with a lovely brown and blue colour combo for this card, featuring some cute polka dot backing paper!

Hello there!

Happy Saturday! I hope you've had a fab week!

Mine has been a bit chaotic again as I have been away with work all week....this time in Leeds. I'm not a big fan of living out of my suitcase and to make matters worse the hotel I was staying at wasn't brilliant either. Oh well, I'm back home now and I have a new challenge for you from My Time to Craft! This week we have a lovely theme for you...congratulations! You can make any card as long as you are congratulating someone!

I love this backing paper so much, I think the colours are lovely. I've teamed it with a bright blue plain paper to really make my image pop. My image has been coloured with my Promarkers and I have added a little sparkle to the bottle and the glasses with my Stickles.

Tea-riffic Experience!

Hello!

Me again - I'm back with my second post for today....this time for My Time to Craft.

UPDATE - before you read this post...I must apologise as it appears I have gone slightly mad and managed to mix up my challenges! The card mentioned below was in fact for the challenge at My Time to Craft last week! Whoops!

This Last week we have had a lovely challenge for you, we are were looking for vintage/shabby chic cards or projects. Now, as you can imagine this challenge is right up my street! I love a bit of vintage!

I opted to include one of my favourite vintage items on this card.....yes that's right...some teacups!

I've coloured my digi stamp teacups with my Promarkers, I have used plain pink backing paper topped with some pretty polka dot paper (which I have torn to give rough edges). I've added a doily and a collection of pretty buttons. Finally I have used a digi stamp sentiment.

I'd also like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Digi Stamp Boutique - monthly customer competition
Papertake Weekly - Two by Two (I used two papers!)
Crafty Sentiments - anything goes

This card also reflects the tea-riffic day that I experienced last Saturday - when I enjoyed afternoon tea in a tree house! It was a lovely afternoon which was organised by the Secret Tea Society! This was the first time that I met the other members of the society and I have to say that they are a wonderful bunch of tea loving ladies! We enjoyed scones and cakes, and a really good natter!

The tree house

Hmmm....out of my comfort zone here!

Hello there - happy hump day!

I hope you are all keeping well and are having a fab week so far!

So, can you believe that we're already in October? I know I say it every month....but I'm really not sure where this year has flown by to! Its time for a new challenge over at Christmas at Sweet Stampin and this month's challenge really stumped me!

This month we want to see masculine Christmas cards. Now any regular visitor to my blog will know how much I struggle with masculine cards at the best of time! I tend to make very girly cards...a bit of pink, a bit of purple....and lots of sparkle and I'm happy! Add a cupcake or two and I'm beaming! As soon as anyone mentioned "masculine" however I shudder a little!!

So, I thought long and hard about this theme....and created the following.....

Now, I'm not entirely happy with this creation....its definitely masculine...but is it a Christmas card? I'm not so sure! I've stamped my tree image and decorated it with my Stickles. I have then selected several different masculine backing papers to make up the background. My sentiment was created on my computer.

Pop by the Christmas at Sweet Stampin challenge blog to see some great inspiration from the DT....they've created some real masculine Christmas cards for you!!

While you're there you can also find out about our fab sponsor this month and the prize we have on offer for you....

Whoops!

Hello there!

I hope you are keeping well and have had a fab week!

I had a wonderful holiday...a week in sunny Spain was just what the doctor ordered. Although after a week back at work that holiday now feels like a very long time ago already! Here is the swimming pool where I spent most of my week....

We're already planning our girlie holiday for next year!

Anyway, I'm back this week with a fab new challenge from My Time to Craft! This time the challenge is "sorry I forgot your Birthday".....now I think I need a lot of these cards! I have a diary...and I write everyone's Birthdays down...but I seem to forget a lot too!!

I went a bit retro with my card.....

I love this Kenny K image, which I have coloured with my Promarkers. I have gone with a red and grey colour combo with some retro themed papers.

If you get the chance pop by the My Time to Craft challenge blog to see all the fab DT cards that have been created this week!

Just a note...

Hello there,

Its me again...I'm still lying by the pool basking in the warm Spanish sunshine (fingers crossed!). Here is another scheduled post from me...this time I'm bringing you the My Time to Craft challenge.

This week we'd like to see your thank you cards. Now I love thank you cards....I send them whenever I can...my poor friends probably have quite a large collection between them now!

I have used one of my new favourite stamps for this card.....

Isn't it a cute image?? The stamp is actually just the typewriter and paper....you can then add your own sentiment. I've gone with a vintage feel for my thank you card, using plain brown backing paper and that fab newspaper print paper. My image has been stamped and I have added a thank you sentiment to the paper.

Things with Wings

Hello there!

I hope you are well and having a fab week......this is a scheduled post from me I'm afraid....as I am currently relaxing in Spain with the girlies! I flew out last Sunday afternoon...so hopefully by now I am well rested and relaxed!

I am here today with a new challenge from Sweet Stampin...this week we'd like to see your creations featuring things with wings!

I opted for a butterflies for my card....

When I made this card, the weather had just started to change and I was feeling quite gloomy! So I decided to create a really bright card, with splashes of red, blue and yellow! My image has been coloured with my Promarkers, and I have added a little sparkle with my Stickles.
